Odor Control

General description

Unpleasant odors are the most significant source of environmental complaints. ENVI-CHEM designs and implements modern systems for neutralizing odorous compounds in gaseous pollutants from industrial and other processes. The company uses different odor neutralization products, depending on the type of odor compound, which can be applied either directly at the source of the odor, in the air, in open and closed spaces, in ducts, and in exhaust chimneys.

Method of application

  • High-Pressure spraying, a process in which the liquid deodorant, dissolved in water, is sprayed into very small droplets through nozzles operating under high pressure. The microscopic droplets diffuse into the air, react with the odorous compounds and neutralize them.
  • Dry Vapor technology, which involves vaporizing the deodorant into microscopic particles (<1μm) using compressed air, low pressure, and without the use of water. The particles diffuse into the air and come into contact with odorous gases (such as hydrogen sulfide, sulfides, ammonia, and amines), neutralizing them. Dry Vapor technology is particularly effective in neutralizing odors in enclosed spaces and ducts, as it:
  • -Creates a very large contact and reaction surface between the deodorizing material and the odorous compounds.

    -It ensures wide dispersion of the deodorant in the outdoor area—the area of application—for more effective neutralization of odorous compounds, and in the surrounding area—the area of the facility—to minimize the generated nuisances.

    -It effectively neutralizes odorous compounds such as H₂S, mercaptans, and ammonia, drastically reducing environmental nuisances.

General description

The deodorization of wastewater is necessary to reduce unpleasant odors resulting from the decomposition of organic substances containing sulfur, ammonia, mercaptans, etc. By using special deodorizing compounds, odorous compounds are neutralized, improving atmospheric conditions and reducing environmental nuisances.

Method of application

  • Direct injection of deodorant in the wastewater at the inlet of the biological treatment plant.
  • Direct injection of deodorant into aeration tanks.
  • Spraying of deodorant solution under high pressure around the perimeter of treatment tanks.
  • Gel in buckets around the perimeter of treatment tanks.
  • Activated Carbon Filters, used to deodorize manholes and ventilation pipes in sewerage networks. Activated carbon adsorbs odorous sulfur and ammonia compounds, reducing odors.
  • Dry Vapor technology, where the odor control agent is sprayed into the air in microscopic droplets (<1μm) in order to come into contact with the odors of the wastewater and neutralize them. The use of low-pressure compressed air, without the use of water, allows the small droplets to be dispersed into the surrounding area.
